Hello Everyone, Recently I was invited to a networking event, and I went. It inspired me to write about it because I had no idea what to expect. The invitation said to dress business causal. DO NOT ignore this. I dressed in a nice sweater, and I still felt under dressed. The second thing to expect is a lot of people, after all it is a networking event. Be prepared to talk with business people, that is what the event is all about. Try to ignore the feelings of intimidation, everyone is there for the same reason, to meet other people. Everyone had business cards to give, as a student I do not have business cards so accepted them graciously, and looked them up later on LinkedIn. Be prepared to talk as I mentioned before, I have done a lot of talking to people I don't know as I have been a bartender for many years, and I was not prepared for the anxiety I experienced.
